Tender Paws Hospice extends your expert care into the homes of your patients.
End-of-life pet care can feel overwhelming, and most families lack the in-home support in giving their pet the quality of care they desire. Tender Paws gives families the resources and education needed to bridge that gap.
Beyond the medical needs of the pet, families also need emotional and grief support through the hospice experience. Having a compassionate and understanding in-home presence on their pet’s veterinary team is invaluable.

Our Services
Establishing Care
On initial contact, a Meet and Greet will give myself, the pet, and their family a chance to become familiar and ensure Tender Paws is the best fit. Baseline vitals, pain, safety, and quality of life are assessed, and goals for care are set in collaboration with the family veterinarian.
Sustaining Care
Goals will be revisited and adjusted as needed as health status changes. Support in medication organization, household changes and recommendations, mobility support, monitoring of physiologic status (Blood pressure, SPO2, EKG), sample collection and delivery to family veterinarian, and non-pharmacological pain management (PEMF therapy) are some of the services offered. A Care Report will be sent to the family veterinarian after each visit.
All But Euthanasia
As time progresses, continual assessment of pain, quality of life, and frailty are utilized to help families feel they are making educated decisions for their pet. Counseling families through making the end-of-life decision and helping them choose the best setting for death is an essential part of the process.
My Story and Why
My start in veterinary medicine was as a Client Service Coordinator for an emergency hospital in Fort Collins, CO in 2011. Upon graduation from school with an AAS in Veterinary Technology, I moved into an overnight role as a CVT in 2014. After moving to Oregon in 2015, I have spent time in Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, General Practice, and Research. I am RECOVER ALS CPR Certified, am obtaining the Pet Bereavement Specialist Certification, and I am a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.
A personal experience with hospice care in human medicine made me realize how deeply our pets and their families deserve the same care and support. Creating an extension of the veterinary team into the pet’s home spoke to me in a way I could not ignore at a time I was able to break away from the traditional career path for veterinary technicians, and as such, Tender Paws Hospice was born.
