Finding My Why…

My start in veterinary medicine was as a Client Service Coordinator for an emergency hospital in Fort Collins, CO in 2011. Upon graduation from school with an AAS in Veterinary Technology, I moved into an overnight role as a CVT in 2014. After moving to Oregon in 2015, I have spent time in Emergency and Critical Care, Internal Medicine, General Practice, and Research. I am RECOVER ALS CPR Certified, a Certified Pet Loss Bereavement Specialist, and I am a member of the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care.

A personal experience with hospice care in human medicine made me realize how deeply our pets and their families deserve the same care and support. Creating an extension of the veterinary team into the pet’s home spoke to me in a way I could not ignore at a time I was able to break away from the traditional career path for veterinary technicians, and as such, Tender Paws Hospice was born.
